Gruff says: “The lyrics were basically inspired by the widespread anger I - and many other people felt towards the incompetence and arrogance of the Johnson regime during the lockdowns - not that I feel any different now. I mean the words go off on one like most of my songs but that was the seed of the idea.”
This single follows Gruff’s chart success in the UK on ‘Seeking New Gods’ (UK Top 10) and a radio A-listed appearance on Imarhan’s critically acclaimed album ‘Aboogi’ featuring on the single “Adar Newlan”. The two tracks featured on the “People Are Pissed” single are both over 8 minutes long and represent another fascinating, brilliant page in the artist’s songbook.

I’ve been a massive Super Furry Animals fans since their first album and I’ve seen them many times in the UK and North America. Das Koolies are awesome. I heard this for the first time today and it’s completely different to the Furries. A little like Black Devil Disco Club with little hints of the furries now and again. Brilliant. Peter Easton

Well, does it live up to the hype? It's okay, not as good as 'Loops' or the 'Fenella' stuff; i doubt i'll be listening to it in full very often.
Her mojo is waneing in my 'umble opinion. vykr

Love the metal tracks on this album, but also lots of other sonic explorations. Static electricity, East West Link also fantastic. Thanks to KGLW for this! Michael B
